e-FAST Summit 2024: Driving the Future of Electric Freight

e-FAST Summit 2024, held on September 10th in New Delhi, was a landmark event marking two years of progress of NITI Aayog’s e-FAST India platform which focusses on accelerating Zero-Emission Trucking (ZET) in India. The summit gathered policymakers, industry leaders, and thought leaders for a comprehensive agenda, emphasising collaborative pathways for electrifying India's freight sector.
The event’s inaugural plenary was led by NITI Aayog and WRI India (e-FAST India Secretariat) and featured insights on bridging policy with industry ambitions. Key sessions entailed discussions on policy pathways, sub-national deployment strategies, learnings of early e-truck adopters from the industry, infrastructure development, and innovative financing for the ZET transition. Several industry experts, government officials, financiers, and think tanks shared their experiences and ideas to create a supportive environment for sustainable freight.
The e-FAST Summit reinforced India’s commitment to a greener freight system and set a clear roadmap for continued ZET expansion, positioning the nation as a leader in sustainable transportation.
