Nayi Soch ki Sawaari: A Co-Creation Workshop

Date:

e-FAST India, in collaboration with Purpose, organised a co-creation workshop titled ‘Nayi Soch ki Sawaari’ to address this critical aspect. The workshop featured a user-journey mapping exercise of the informal trucking community—including small fleet owners, truck drivers, mechanics, and petrol pump owners. This exercise sought to map their experiences and perspectives while examining existing research, policies, outreach platforms, and support mechanisms.

Key Themes for Intervention:

  1. Skilling: While national-level programs exist, there is a pressing need for state-specific curriculums to effectively address the unique needs of the local workforce.

  2. Alternative Decarbonization Technology: The informal trucking community often appears to be overlooked in the development of electric trucks. It is crucial to ensure that this segment is included in the advancement of other decarbonization technologies.

  3. Financing: To make electric trucks financially viable for small fleet operators, profitable financial models must be developed across the value chain, similar to those in place for smaller electric vehicles.

  4. Supporting Infrastructure: Ensuring adequate energy supply and charging facilities requires enhanced coordination between state and central governments, as well as collaboration among various ministries.

A significant gap identified across these areas is the necessity for greater stakeholder collaboration within the ecosystem. Bringing together diverse parties will be essential for developing contextual and feasible solutions.
